Jex Capital Allowances are are a consultancy service providing capital allowance advice to private clients, property investors and private equity vehicles across a wide range of sectors.

Capital Allowances are amongst the most valuable and least exploited methods of reducing income tax or corporation tax liabilities and arise from capital expenditure on:
  • Purchase / sale of an existing or newly built property
  • Construction of a new property
  • Building alterations or extensions
  • Property interior fit-out or refurbishment

All commercial property, of whatever age or specification; whether freehold, feuhold or leasehold, may have an element of capital allowances.  The value of allowances will vary depending on the type and specification, the acquisition price, the tax history of the property and the interest held in the property.

The majority of our consultants are qualified in surveying and/or taxation and have a number of years capital allowance experience - this gives us the expertise and experience to maximise the tax advantage for you.

Jex Capital Allowances employs over 20 years of capital allowance consulting experience to survey your property and provide the HMRC with a detailed report that not only itemizes the value of the qualifying capital allowance items but also quantifies the value of works in association with the installation and operation of the qualifying items.

All of our clients and assignments are managed from initial instruction through to agreement with the relevant Tax Authorities by either one of our partners.

Our approach to claim preparation has been developed following ongoing consultation with the Valuation Office Agency in the UK.  This proactive approach ensures that we regularly reach agreements much faster with HM Revenue and Customs and the Valuation Office in the UK and the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland than the industry norm, whilst also achieving higher claim results.
